“How much do you charge for a consultation?”
This is probably one of the questions I hear most often from new clients. And almost every time, they’re surprised when I answer:
Nothing.
People often ask why I don’t charge for it. After all, it’s time that could be spent doing a treatment instead.
My answer is simple.
In a way, I do earn something from those consultations—just not directly.
I earn better results, happier clients, long-term trust, and yes… returning clients.
Most people come to me already knowing a little about skincare. They’ve heard about different treatments, recognize some active ingredients, and many already have a fairly good skincare routine.
But there’s almost always room for improvement.
Sometimes, changing just one product, introducing the right active ingredient, or simply using products in the correct order can make a remarkable difference.
I always explain that great skin is a team effort.
The time you spend with me is important, but the time you spend taking care of your skin at home matters just as much—if not more. You interact with your skin every single day, so what you apply, how you apply it, and why you apply it all makes a difference.
Another thing that’s very important to me is helping my clients understand their own skin. Not to turn them into skincare professionals, but to give them enough knowledge to make confident decisions without feeling that they need to ask me about every little thing.
Seeing someone come back months later with clearer skin, faded pigmentation, healthier texture, or simply feeling confident without makeup… that’s something you can’t really put a price on.
That’s why I happily invest my time in consultations.
And if you’re simply looking for guidance, want to understand your skin better, or don’t know where to start, you’re always welcome. Sometimes, one good conversation is the first step toward healthier skin.
